The Dark Side of the Blues Tour

The tour went down a storm! Packed out, awesome venues (Tanz Cafe, River Deck, Cantare and awesome acts that shared the Stage with us (Christian Heath Band, The Howlin Shibanski'were superb, Son of a Thousand, a good band but has to work on professionalism though...

Great jams happened at the end of the night, enjoyed by us and the crowd.

My thanks to Bjanca, Nikki, Rici, Damian, Chas, Connie, Heidie, Matt, all the venues, all the bands and my friends and fans, you all rock as hard as I do!

Now to finish the second album...

Not all good news though... It is with a sad heart that I learnt about the passing away of Pieter van Zyl, a very talented young guitarist and good friend. Pieter was part of the live line-up for two shows, the launch at Tanz and BSF at CCHQ. You will be dearly missed young man!

Word just in that I should have a few gigs whilst in SA during Jan/ Feb 2011! Keep an eye on the tours page for updates...

Further, two songs ready for Rici's drumming mojo, Desert Rain and Eagle! Hopefully he gets some studio time during December and we can finish it off during my SA visit. Meanwhile, have a listen to the Desert Rain pre production version on the Reverb player...

I absolutely fell in love with the PRS Custom 24 Killer Quilt that I’ve recently purchased. The guitar is well balanced, has a stunning finish, amazing tonal variety and absolutely suits my playing style. It attracts much deserved attention on stage, at airports whilst travelling and in the studio. The guitar and I have bonded quickly and it has become my main instrument. St.J. and his PRS – tone made in heaven!

February 2010 - September 2010
Work began in setting up the studio in KSA. During September, after a number of setbacks the studio is finally ready and work has begun recording ideas and songs for the next album. A number of gigs in SA and KSA was on the cards as well, a busy period indeed!

December 2009/ January 2010 -
Much has happened: REVERBNATION: The album went to No 4 on the GLOBAL BLUES charts, No 1 on the ALL GENRE charts for South Africa and No 1 BLUES charts for South Africa! On the way up I was at No 39, on the same page as ROBBEN FORD! What an honour to be seen on the same page as this legend, wow!!! I've proven my point to the world, this where this drive ends, now to work on the studio in KSA and get it ready for recording....
