A bit about the kit I use:
Depending on where I find myself, my live setup is generally a selection of two electric guitars from the following collection. I use a Line6 X3 Live DI to the desk and the live output to a a pair of powered monitors for backline. Studio work is accomplished using guitars as the sound/ my mood requires, and Line6 X3 Live DI t the desk.

JP and StJ - The start of a great friendship and incredible tone relationship... Never in my wildest dreams did I think that a day would come when I am endorsing a product that I am just totally nuts about! |
In the few days that I had spending time with my monster tone machines before sadly having to leave both of them in South Africa I discovered the following: Live - They ROCK! The Soundman at Rumours commented "Two amps?" I replied: "Yes, I play stereo, you can mic one, I'll just crank them both" ;-) Needless to say, cranking was not required, these things are LOUD! Volumes set to just where the sound kicks in proved quite enough for the small venue, hence the addition of the 2 J le Roux attenuators that allows for the main amps to be turned up to get the real tone of them valves. |
